Linear equations

13. y=6-2x
14. y=7-5x
15. 2y= 8-3x
16. 5y=10-2x
horizontal: parallel to the horizon.
origin: point of intersection between he x and the y-axis, (0,0)
vertical: right angle to the horizon.
x-axis: the horizontal axis of a graph.
y-axis: th vertical axis of a graph.
coordinates: shown as pairs of letters and/or numbers. ex. (2,4)
x-coordinate: the position of a point according to the x-axis.
y-coordinate: the position of a point according to the y-axis.
ordinate: number that shows place or position.

Percents

Money is very valuable when you start on your own. I would be a teacher if I could.1) $540 out of $1200 is 45% of your money which leaves you with 55% which is $660. 2) 6% of my total income is $72 which leaves me $588 and 49% of my money. 3) $200 is 16.66% which leaves me with about $388 and about 32%. 4) $40 a week is about $180 a month because their is about 4 and a half weeks in a month. $180 is 15% of my money and leaves me with 17% of money left and $208 left. 5) If you have $208 left $83.2 goes in your savings and $124.8 for the rest.

Part 1 The Commute!

I get 9 miles a gallon (which is pretty bad) and my gas tank only holds 26.4 gallons. So 26.4 times 8 equals 228.6 miles a week. Usullly that's about a whole week of driving for my family. 2.20 for a gallon of gas, so $2.20 times 26.4 equals $58.08 which doesn't cost too much but at these low prices that's a lot. For a month it would be $232.32 and for a year it would be $2787.84.

Poly-What?

In these links I learned a bunch of new things that made me understand polynomials. I learned that you can't put 3y and 4x together because they are not like terms. You taught me this but I didn't understand why. Also I am a little better with variables so I can work a little bit easier becuase the video showed great examples

Assignment #5

I chose Saving money for school supplies from secondhand stores and westside market vs the grocery store. These relate to me because we could use less money on school supplies and we go to westside market all the time. I found out that you can go to discount clothing stores and buy the same brand that you usually wear. I found out at westside market the cost is way less than the grocery store but maybe with gas it isn't worht it.

Assignment #4

In a week I would drive so many miles its not funny. The average miles I would drive in a work day is 30 miles so 30 miles times 7 equals 210 miles. So I get 9 mpg so 210 divide by 9 equals 23.3 gallons a week. With gas at 2.75, 23.3 times 2.75 equals 64.08 a week. I would definately change to a hybrid.

My First Car

If I could pick my first car I would pick the 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster. This car gets 9 mpg and holds 26.4 gallons. Since gas is around 3.25 so 26.4 times 3.25 is 85.80 to fill my car up.
